Turgen 1 day | June to October

Located in Ile-Alatau National Park, the Turgen Gorge offers an ideal opportunity to escape Almaty for a day trip, disconnect from civilization, and enjoy the beauty of nature. The gorge is famous for its waterfalls, the most remarkable of which is the Kairak Waterfall, where the water plunges from a height of 55 meters (the waterfall is the highest in Turgen). Travellers can take part in a range of activities here, including short mountain hikes (such as to one of the waterfalls), easy rafting suitable for beginners, and fishing at the well-known trout farm.
